The dictionary says “fervency” is “showing
great warmth of feeling—intensely earnest”.
People are fervent in a myriad of ways—
pursuing education, wealth, prominence,
pleasures, health, religion, helping others….
A lifetime passes quickly. People prepare for
their pursuit– put energy into their choice–
and before long, think about retirement!
To what should we dedicate “the core of our
living”? About what should we be intensely
earnest? To answer these questions we must
ask another one—What is life all about?
Since God is our Maker, we must turn to
His Word for the answer:
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all.
For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing,
Whether good or evil.” Ecclesiastes12:13,14
(Prayer)
Thank you, God, for giving us the ability to love
You with all our heart, soul, mind and strength!
