In Jesus’ earthly ministry, the Power of God
took precedent over the religious form of the
day. Man’s set structure was in opposition to
God’s display of the miraculous.
When He openly cast out demon spirits, they
attributed the mighty power of God to the
working of the evil one! In their wrong analysis,
how much of what they needed was forfeited?
Even in our day it is common for the power of
Almighty God to be substituted by the ideas
of what will please the people. In so doing, are
they kept from the deliverance they need?
The Spirit of God would come to transform from
oppression to liberty, from just existence to
joyous purpose, from death to abundant life!
Can we deny exuberant demonstration in the
midst of God’s life changing power without
eliminating the transformation He would bring?
Do we allow enough of God’s Presence to stir
our emotions and change our lives?
(Prayer)
God, May our ways not take the place of Yours!
Luke 4:18
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor,
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And, recovery of sight to the blind
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;”
