Genesis tells of Jacob fleeing from the wrath of
Esau, whom Jacob had replaced by receiving the
coveted primary blessing of their father.
In his solitude, when he slept, Jacob dreamed of
angels going up and down a ladder between earth
and heaven. The Lord stood at the top and spoke
to him concerning his future life.
As Jacob awoke, in his utter amazement he said,
“Surely the Lord is in this place… I did not know it”.
David later exclaimed that there was no place he
could flee from the Presence of The Lord!
How conscious are we of God being right where we
are now—watching, listening, loving, beckoning us
to Himself—desiring to commune with us? Do we
sense His Presence, hear His voice in our thoughts
or from His Word? Do we really want to encounter
Him as much as He desires to manifest Himself to us?
Can we say as Samuel, “Speak, Lord, I am listening”?
(Prayer)
Lord, There is no one or anything more desirable
than You!
Acts 17:26-28
“He has made from one blood every nation of men…
so that they should seek the Lord…
though He is not far from each one of us
for in Him we live and move and have our being…”
