The question is what would make the world
believe that Jesus is the Son of God—the
Savior of mankind? The answer in John
18:20-26 may be somewhat unexpected.
Let us investigate:
The recorded prayer of Jesus in these verses
is that the disciples (and believers In Him
through their word) would all be one IN HIM
(His truth, His sanctification, His Indwelling
Presence, His Glory, expressing His love).
This union was manifested at the birth of the
Church on the day of Pentecost—they were
all (not just in one accord with each other) but
united with the power of God from on high!
(And, the multitudes responded)
Jesus did not ascend into the heavens and
leave us to our own inventions as to how to
win the world to Him. He meant for us to be
so united with Him that the works the world
sees would not just be ours—but His that is
in us! For the world to believe—there must
be evidence of our connection with Him!
(Prayer)
Lord, We must have your powerful Presence
that the world may believe!
John 17:23
“I in them, and You in Me; that they may be
made perfect in one, and that the world
may know that You have sent Me, and
have loved them as You have loved Me.”
