When Jacob was asked who he was by his
blind father, he replied “Esau”, hoping to
gain his father’s blessing by deceit.
Upon returning to his own land after living
many years in a distant place because of the
anger of his brother, Jacob sought blessing
from God, who also asked “What is your
name?”.
This time without deceit, he confessed to be
Jacob. The transforming Presence of God
then changed him from a deceiver and named
him Israel—a prince with God.
We have been born to fulfill God’s purpose
for our living. To cause that to come to pass,
we must lay aside our own ways and be
willing to trust His foresight.
The outcome is: we are no longer sons and
daughters of deceit trying to manipulate our
own inheritance, but we are transformed to
be sons and daughters of the Most High God—
receiving the eternal inheritance He has
prepared for us!
(Prayer)
Lord, May we trust your foresight rather than our
immediate eyesight!
Romans 12:2
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good and
acceptable and perfect will of God.”
