The Old Testament tells of the Israelites turning
their worship of God into a meaningless ritual.
They continued offering their sacrifices that
fore-shadowed the coming of Christ, but in their
hearts, they loved false gods. Therefore they
lost their relationship with the Almighty God!
Perhaps we could compare this to a married
couple who instead of communicating their
own true love–would just read a meaningless
borrowed script to each other.
Ritual is going through motions without an
exchange of loving interaction. It may look
authentic but never really encounters our
magnificent God
Worship and relationship with God is to be an
on-going exchange of heartfelt emotions from
the depths of our minds and our innermost
beings—reaching longingly for Him–and in
return receiving His awesome love and power
into that place of our strong desire–more than
just a one-time experience!
(Prayer—2 Timothy 3:1,5)
Lord, May we not have a form of godliness–
without Your power
John 4:23
“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the
true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit
and in truth; for the Father is seeking such to
worship Him.”
