To be at peace with God and be able
to trust His Guidance–brings the
possibility of Rest.
To try to order our own lives by what
we can imagine–does not produce the
same results as turning toward God,
seeking His Wise Council, and being
willing to follow it.
True rest for our souls comes only
when we are willing to surrender our
plans to His perfect ability to show us
how to live day by day in the purpose
for which we were created!
It is a matter of lovingly setting our
affections on God’s desires– instead
of believing that our own are superior!
How much can we trust that His ways
are higher and more marvelous than
our own?
To order our own ways brings stress
and striving—but to commit to Him
brings Peaceful Rest.
