After leaving Egypt, the Children of Israel
journeyed to Mount Sinai where the Presence
of the Lord descended in a thick cloud with
thunderings, lightnings, and the loud Sound of a
Trumpet to speak directly with Moses and the
people–giving them His Words of Life!
It was an awesome manifestation of His power
so they would not take lightly the words He
wanted them to heed.
Years later when Samuel was just a boy assisting
Eli who was priest of God’s people, the word of
the Lord was said to be “rare”. It was not that
God did not desire to speak, but there were not
many who wanted to hear. It was the small boy
Samuel who listened to the voice of God!
How many in our day seek to hear the Voice of
the Lord God–whether it would be the written
Word, a still small voice, or a thundering trumpet.
God is not silent—He has many life-giving words
of revelation for us in this hour– but we must
“tune in”—and hear–
THE SOUND OF HIS TRUMPET!
(Prayer)
Oh God, In this day of so many voices, may we
seek to hear the One who has the words of
Eternal Life!
Matthew 13:43
“Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun
in the kingdom of their Father.
He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
